MOST OFTEN MENTIONED REGRETS

One of the most frequent regrets we hear from those who have completed this voyage involves not anticipating all the fabulous places along the way to stop, shop & linger. Not anticipating and planning on wanting to stop and eat-out at all the wonderfully tempting waterfront restaurants. . . from the 5-Star Elites to the 5-Star Dives is one of the most frequently mentioned regrets previous Loopers have expressed.

"The Looper's Companion Guide" routes will take you by hundreds of absolutely amazing 'must stop, see & experience places' around the Loop. Many of which will be in the boondocks, and in places you never heard of. The obvious ones of course will be in the Cities, Towns and small Villages along the way.

Fact is, one can spend a year cruising from one wonderful destination to another just in Chesapeake Bay. I spend much more money eating out and being a tourist then I spend on all my boat, fuel & boating expenses. I'm not bragging, I'm trying to make a point. My 5,676-mile, 2021 Looping expenses totaled $11,700. I spent more than that just eating out. Of course, you don't have to eat out, but when you get here, you sure will want to!

Who has ever taken a vacation and not ended up spending more than they originally planned? And this is a yearlong vacation!

Take this as a heads up and plan your Looping budget accordingly!

Where can you go?

Maybe the question should be: "Where do you want to go?"

Want to take your boat right through downtown Chicago? Cruise right by the statue of Liberty? Visit New York City? Or would you prefer cruising along the beautiful cypress lined Waccamaw River, South Carolina's undiscovered Low Country portion of the Atlantic ICW where you will see egrets, eagles, hawks, osprey, peacocks, sea otters, deer, dolphins, and even alligators?

Fact is, from big cities to small towns, fishing villages, and enchanting Vistas, you will cruise thru creeks, swamps, and undisturbed uninhabited wilderness waterways. So much so, that for miles you will think you're the first human to ever be there. It all comes to life between Miami, Montreal, Mackinac, and Memphis. You can even boat to Louisville, Kentucky and even to Pittsburg to watch a Steeler's game. You can boat from very near Oklahoma City to Ocracoke on the Outer Banks, and on to Ontario in Canada.

Starting in New York, Locks will lift your boat to almost 900 feet above sea level on your way to Canada's Georgian Bay & North Channel. From New Orleans to New York, from Mackinac Island, Memphis and Mobile, America's Great Loop will take you and your boat past Castles and Cathedrals, Mountains and Marshlands, Giant Cypress trees and Civil War battlefields. You will cruise along rolling hillsides, lush vineyards, Antebellum mansions, century old towns and enchanting riverside Vistas.

Along the way you will cruise through exceptionally beautiful waters with pristine sandy beaches and pink granite freshwater islands populated only by pine trees. From hundreds of Lighthouses to hundreds more fabulous waterfront restaurants, this is a near 6,000-mile adventure with such amazing beauty it has inspired countless writers, musicians, novelists, poets, photographers, and a few thousand boaters.

This voyage will take you through American History as you cruise through 9 original Colonies with the option to cruise all 13. You might cruise through 20 U.S. States and 2 Provinces of Canada. In fact, if you want, you can take the Gulf ICW to New Orleans, Galveston, Houston, Corpus Christi, and Padre Island at the border with Mexico.

Question is. . . Where do you want to go? Hannibal, Missouri, or Minneapolis/St. Paul?

America's Great Loop connects you to over 20,000 miles of safe inland navigable waterways. . . And the very BEST-NEWS of all? Following "The Looper's Companion Guide" you can do it all without ever facing the perils of a wide-open sea. You will never have to cruise thru the night. You will be safely anchored or in a Marina every single night before dark.

Where do you want to go? Chesapeake Bay? Baltimore? Washington DC to see the Smithsonian? Arlington Cemetery? Vietnam Wall Memorial? You can boat to and even dock within just a few blocks of all the main attractions DC has to offer.
